Health & Safety Policy
Nakimu Ventures Inc (Nakimu) is committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for all our employees and contractors. Nakimu believes that injuries are preventable and health and safety is the key to long-term success for all. We work in activities that pose a high-risk due to their nature and environment - but with strong leadership, training and continued learning we can create a workplace where everyone feels supported and goes home safe and healthy at the end of the day.
Nakimu will hold all levels of management accountable for following safe work practices and reporting unsafe acts and safety incidents. Nakimu management will all be held accountable themselves by providing training and approachable leadership so that everyone is comfortable in reporting and the company can grow a strong safety culture together.
All employees are encouraged to contribute to the company health and safety program through monthly safety meetings and the joint occupational health and safety committee. As the company grows in its forestry roles, it will need to grow in its safety program which requires input from all sectors of Nakimu.
Employee cooperation and compliance with the Nakimu health and safety program is a condition of employment. Nakimu is committed to compliance with all governmental agencies, regulations and industry best practices and will use audits to measure and improve.
